If they hadn't killed it, it would be in a zoo right now.
The guy who shot it made it sound like he was in life danger, unlikely with a pig that wouldn't even be able to run fast. Plus he stated the pig stood still.
Even dead Smithsonian would pay $$$ for it.
Shooting and burying it was not the brightest move you can do when enountering a supersized animal. Oh well.
True but feral hogs [or even farm hogs, for that matter] can be dangerous and unpredictable.
They can run a lot faster than you think.

As a kid, I was allowed the run of the farm...-except- for the hog pens.
The adults fed them and we kids were not allowed to even hang over the fence to look at them lest we fall in.
Hogs can be funny critters.....
