Obviously the government doesn't see any concern, or the OSS would have made the government's "forbidden to export" list--then it wouldn't be released OSS.

Clinton ended most all export control laws on software, if you weren't a total liberal stooge or actually knew anything about these subjects or my posting history you might know that.

You might have some more credibility if you actually denounced MS for dumping their software to the Communist Party in China.

I just gave you the link to a thread I created on this website lamblasting Bill Gates for his ties to China. Of course you either refused to look at it, or refuse to now admit it, although either one proves what a fraud you are.

I guess I have to repeat my post 115:

It's clear you have nothing else to say. Therefore, and in case you missed my latest comment,

Those laws were at best useless and at worst damaging. They worked in a Cold War environment, but their time was at an end.

They didn't work because other countries all over the world were getting the ability to program complex systems too. Linux was started and grew overseas when the controls were in full force. Also, basic textbooks of things such as cryptography allowed all programmers in the world to make effective encryption. This mean that everyone could have encryption, although we forbade its export.

So, US companies couldn't export their high-encryption products overseas, while the foreign competitors had such encryption. They could compete in our market, but we couldn't compete in theirs. The regulation was damaging our businesses with no real positive effect on security.

BTW, the champion of those restrictions that you love was Al Gore, the same guy who wanted to have the keys for all encryption in the country.
