On New Years Eve, I saw Memoirs of a Geisha.

I didn't go willingly. The girlfriend picked it.

But you know what? I liked it.

The movie was entirely worthy of the three Oscars it won.

"On New Years Eve, I saw Memoirs of a Geisha."

I'm dying to see this movie. Missed it on the opening. It should show up in the secondary theaters (the cheap seats ones) shortly. Soon as it does, I'm going. Also plan on buying it when it comes out on DVD. Hope the DVD comes out soon. I read the book which was excellent.

Thanks for the good report on "Memoirs of a Geisha", I'll look for it when it comes out on DVD.

The best movies I saw last year were "Narnia" and "Cinderella Man", and I thought it was great that Cinderella Man actor Paul Giammatta (?spelling) was nominated for best actor. Even tho' the film was ignored by the Academy (they never forgive a commercial failure), it is still an interesting portrait of the Depression era.

Gays, prostitutes and rednecks. Three liberal Hollywood tropes. Gee, I was so excited I almost tuned in. Did NOT.
