OOHHHH, why do you dislike hollyhocks. I'm planning on planting a few of those back in the corner on this side. Just to have something with some height.

Oh my don't. Here at least, and I'm sure there since it's more temperate, they reseed themselves and one becomes an army in no time. They are very difficult to dig out too, and aren't attractive except when they are blooming. Oh - this is my opinion only :) I like things that stay where I put them and the only shrubs I wanted in my flower beds where the lilacs.

I think they'd look good along the side of a large house, or along a fence in a big yard but they just overwhelm my beds.
