This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share. In the previous threads we have had a great time talking through lessons, training, horse lamenesses, illnesses and pregnancies... and always sharing pictures and stories.
I always have a link to this thread on my profile page, so if you have something to say and can't find the thread in latest posts look for it there and wake the thread up!
I also have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and MissTargets will now be pinging everyone most mornings. Let MissTargets and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list. As FreeRepublic is a political site, our politics and other issues will probably blend in . There are many issues for horsemen that touch politics land use, animal rights/abuse cases that make the news . Legislation that might affect horse owners.
So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends. There are lots of ways of doing things and we all have our quirks, tricks and specialties that are neat to learn about.

New folk and occasional posters, jump right in and introduce yourselves, tell us about your horses, and post pictures if you've got them!
Really... ~shudder~
That'd be exciting!
I've been out mowing the back forty. Man it was thick back there. and wet. It kicked my butt, even with a new blade on the mower.
How come that horse has a brown leg in one picture but not the other? :')
Which one do you think she doesn't? She has all four brown legs, no socks.
Oh - you're talking about her grey horse... that's Bay's ear in the last picture :~)
I know. I thought at first she was a paint. I had to go back and look:')
Heh... I saw what you saw, but then, I saw the woman in the tack room too, after you pointed it out. :~)
This is getting scary lol
Did everyone leave town except me?
Nope:')
Nope:')
We had everyone over for a BBQ this evening. Company just left. I'm trying to get ready for tomorrow.
It is BBQ season isn't it? Well, it probably always is there :) Have a great week.
Yeah. We grill almost every evening. How's Bob doing?
He has a couple of hematomas and it will just take time to go away I guess.
Yall have had a rough weekend. Hang in there. Prayers
Morning
Yep, that was me. It seemed to work for Grace too.
I've also been pleased with how that fly sheet I ordered has been working. They still get her legs, but I fly spray them every evening and it seems to keep the bumps to a minimum. I've also started giving her Tri-Hist antihistamine granules in her feed once a day. It's kinda like horsey benadryl I guess. I can't really tell if it's working all that well yet because I've just been giving it for a few days, but she doesn't seem to be spending every waking moment trying to find something to scratch on like she was before.
Wow, that's scary about Bob! Is that where they went in to do his laser ablation? My Mom had an angiogram and they went in through the big vein in her groin and it made the awfulest looking bruise I'd ever seen. I sure hope he's better now!
We made it back last night, after a marathon drive from Georgia. We left Saturday morning from Florida, but didn't get very far. Too many traffic jams with road construction. After twelve hours on the road, it sure was nice to be home.
We had a nice time at Disney World. We did the Magic Kingdom. Only thing was because of the hurricane warning for two days before that, I think everyone waited until the day we went. It was so packed. We were there for 14 hours! It was stroller wars! Went to Clearwater beach one day and did swim at my SIL's mom's pool. Too bad the weather was bad for a few days, but we did get nice tans.
I didn't take too many pictures. Here are some shots from Disney.Alison, daughter, SIL and his mom.
Alison and Mickey. Note the princess crown. lol She wore that thing all day!
We stayed for the fireworks and laser light parade at 11 pm. That was cool.
What, no pictures of the horse-drawn trolleys at Disney World?! ;o) They've got some of the most gorgeous draft horses there I've ever seen. The Electric Light Parade and the Laser light show are really cool, but trying to elbow your way into some place where you can see can be a real pain. The drive back home sounds like a real nightmare. I'll bet you feel like Night of the Living Dead this morning!
