The FreeRepublic Saddle Club - Who's Who *pics*

This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share. In the previous threads we have had a great time talking through lessons, training, horse lamenesses, illnesses and pregnancies... and always sharing pictures and stories.

I always have a link to this thread on my profile page, so if you have something to say and can't find the thread in latest posts… look for it there and wake the thread up!

I also have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and MissTargets will now be pinging everyone most mornings. Let MissTargets and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list. As FreeRepublic is a political site, our politics and other issues will probably blend in…. There are many issues for horsemen that touch politics… land use, animal rights/abuse cases that make the news…. Legislation that might affect horse owners.

So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends. There are lots of ways of doing things and we all have our quirks, tricks and specialties that are neat to learn about.

...it probably needs a new spark plug, we don't have any, and I don't want to go to town to get a new one...

Get ecurbh to pick one up on his way home from work. That is if you haven't already shot the mower by now.

Eh- after not doing much all morning, I'd feel even worse making him go get it :~)

I just had the ~poor me~ thing going because I was waiting for it to dry out in the tall grass and now I can't do what I wanted! Really, I need to do laundry, I just don't want to.

I'm not on my game today so it wouldn't take much to make me go curl up with my dog and have a nap.

I have a Pity Party sometimes too when I don't get to do what I'd planned to do. I swear, sometimes you'd think I'm 5yrs old. ;o)

I'm assuming you've checked the gas tank...{ducking for cover}

You think it'll explode better full, or empty, when I shoot it?

LOL...

Nothing worse then a mower that won't start. That seems to be the story of my life.

Now that I have all dependable stuff, I can't mow because of this stinkin arm...

You got any WD40 , spray some of that on the end of the plug, then scrap it a bit with a knife. Might help, might not:)

Eh... I'm past mowing for the day. I've embraced laundry, dishes and vacuuming as my purpose in life, it just took me a minute to adjust :~).

Good tip on fixing the plug, I'll try that tomorrow if I still don't feel like going to town.

There is just something about the parade horses (clydesdales) that causes awe, don't you think?

Well , when they stopped working, I used to just go buy another one. Looks like those days are over though. I need to be careful what I wish for. Looks like I might being going part time. I'm adding up the pennies and can't seem to find the Walmart and the Schawn ones:') I may even have to throw these horse catalogs away too.

Thank you ladies. The change is remarkable and it's so nice to see the old Bob back :) although I'm having a heck of a time making him take it easy as per doctor's orders. I have to make sure son and DIL; niece or neighbor is here when I go into work to keep him in his chair and off the tractor or a horse.

You are so right. I arranged for my niece to feed this morning, my son & DIL are worming horses tonight and feeding, niece tomorrow again and my neighbor is sitting with him tomorrow while I'm at work. He can't be trusted :)

I like electric tools, just plug them in :)

Going part time will be worth the decrease in pennies for awhile.

Yes it is. And he's decided not to give up and die :) Said this morning he figured God must want him to stick around awhile.
