This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share. In the previous threads we have had a great time talking through lessons, training, horse lamenesses, illnesses and pregnancies... and always sharing pictures and stories.
I always have a link to this thread on my profile page, so if you have something to say and can't find the thread in latest posts look for it there and wake the thread up!
I also have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and MissTargets will now be pinging everyone most mornings. Let MissTargets and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list. As FreeRepublic is a political site, our politics and other issues will probably blend in . There are many issues for horsemen that touch politics land use, animal rights/abuse cases that make the news . Legislation that might affect horse owners.
So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends. There are lots of ways of doing things and we all have our quirks, tricks and specialties that are neat to learn about.

Foraging and Feeding
Barn Swallow: Diet includes insects such as grasshoppers, crickets, dragonflies, beetles, and moths. Barn swallows are quite opportunistic, and are often found following tractors engaged in plowing or mowing to take advantage of disturbed insects.
Barn swallows are really neat birds:), they are the breed Frog I was talking about last week. I have some nesting in the eaves over my porch.
They have a beautiful call, and are really pretty friendly birds. Once they get use to you they really don't seem to have fear. Mine stay right by the door even as we go in and out.
Becky
Well, maybe one of them is the one that's living up in my barn rafters, though I've never seen them going in and out, there's a nest up there.
I'm glad to learn bird names, I've always just called all small birds "some kind of sparrow"
Bob had his catheter ablation today, and it appears that has fixed the problem. His heart rate is down where it's supposed to be right now, he'll have to give himself shots of lovenox twice a day for three days, and stay on cumeden for about six weeks. We'll be able to tell better tomorrow I think, we're both so tired and stressed it's hard to judge tonight.
Prayers that it's fixed :~)
Rest, and feel well tomorrow, both of you :~)
That's great. Continuing to pray for him.
Morning Duchess. I hope that you are both feeling better today.
How's your summer going?
My summer is going pretty good so far. I'm on a fellowship right now, which is keeping my bills paid while I'm doing a job search. ;~p
I'm taking 5 days off next week. I have some family stuff to take care of but I plan to play some too.
It looks like she is surrounded by ponies:')
Good lord....look at the head on that sucker:)
Becky
And the neck,,,he doesn't even have a neck..
How did she get a saddle to fit that elephant?
Something wrong with the size of her horse and the size of his :~D
Saw two little tiny women on Clydesdales once on trail. They were absolutely magnificent. I'd want one, if it'd fit in my trailer.
...woah.
