This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share. In the previous threads we have had a great time talking through lessons, training, horse lamenesses, illnesses and pregnancies... and always sharing pictures and stories.
I always have a link to this thread on my profile page, so if you have something to say and can't find the thread in latest posts look for it there and wake the thread up!
I also have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and MissTargets will now be pinging everyone most mornings. Let MissTargets and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list. As FreeRepublic is a political site, our politics and other issues will probably blend in . There are many issues for horsemen that touch politics land use, animal rights/abuse cases that make the news . Legislation that might affect horse owners.
So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends. There are lots of ways of doing things and we all have our quirks, tricks and specialties that are neat to learn about.

New folk and occasional posters, jump right in and introduce yourselves, tell us about your horses, and post pictures if you've got them!
Well, I'm outta here and headed to the barn. Seeya tomorrow!
That was my son.
We got a raccoon in the trap today and it wasn't even baited. My husband let it go before I got out there with a camera.
Can the barbies these days even straddle a horse, the ones I had couldn't... they were useless :~D
Some good cliff diving there... can you show me that?
Chickie there on the left seems to have purpose in her stride, she'll help.
She probably pushed her, she looks like she's laughing.
Heh... could be :~)
Ha! Cute pictures :-)
Congrats to Tuffy!
Just cvhecking in here, I got a new horse finally. He's registered Quarter Horse and I will have pictures soon. It was a long search.
I've been absent for a while, it will take me a while to scroll back and see how everybody's doing. It has been so hot here and so dry it's like I don't feel like doing anything. The new horse is in pasture and getting to know friends, I will start him in the round pen soon, it will have to be at about six-thirty in the morning though.
When will this drought and heat quit? Arrrrgggghhh.
Those are funny!
Congrats on the new horse1 Young one? Will you be starting him, or just starting him with you?
Please, pictures!
Did you see the last two posts over there....

Oh, boy:), can't wait for a picture.

Now they're all touchy-feely...
Long ways away, but seems right up y'alls alley. I guess it's a first annual event?
I'm reading an article in July's Horse Illustrated about the ApHC.
At least you can say they your girl's dolls:') I collect them. (well, ok. I have a few in the box that we play with)
Do they sell Midal for horses? After discussing that even though my big butt a nice target when I'm cleaning her feet , she better not try it, I discovered that Sarah Lee does not like football. I was leading her somewhere and she spooked. Two kids were playing ball and it got loose and started rolling her way. If I had been on, I hope I would have had my heels down:') I took the ball and showed her and rubbed her with it. She snarled her lips and blew but stood still. She was p/o about it though because she tried to kick the dog. Better him than me I guess. So, it looks like we will be playing ball this week. Not exactly what I had planned. I think I'll put a little mollassus on it. Then again if she acts like a brat I may just hang a couple over her back.
