The FreeRepublic Saddle Club - Who's Who *pics*

This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share. In the previous threads we have had a great time talking through lessons, training, horse lamenesses, illnesses and pregnancies... and always sharing pictures and stories.

I always have a link to this thread on my profile page, so if you have something to say and can't find the thread in latest posts… look for it there and wake the thread up!

I also have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and MissTargets will now be pinging everyone most mornings. Let MissTargets and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list. As FreeRepublic is a political site, our politics and other issues will probably blend in…. There are many issues for horsemen that touch politics… land use, animal rights/abuse cases that make the news…. Legislation that might affect horse owners.

So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends. There are lots of ways of doing things and we all have our quirks, tricks and specialties that are neat to learn about.

Well, I'm sorry we let it run out. I hope he doesn't slow down because of it.

And actually, I'm not even sure we'll ride this weekend. Ruthy arrives today, and they'll be looking at houses the next couple days... and be down to visit on Friday night. We'll see how Saturday goes :~) - Maybe Sunday.

That's exciting about the house hunting. When will she be moving?

She's moving the latter part of June. They're looking at places to rent, not buy, but they need to find a place now so she's got something to move stuff into.

Twin update:

The happy little family.
Twins are 12 hours old here.
Mom and babies continue to do fine.
They've gone outdoors today. The other horses celebrated with a victory gallop.

Bridey and Boo

Bridey is above average size. Boo is an almost normal size foal.
We figure we got a warmblood baby and a pony.
Hope Boo grows into that head..

Have you ever taken Ruthie on a trail ride while she's been up there?

They are different in size aren't they, but it might surprise you that the smaller Boo catches up. She just got the small side of the womb maybe. :~D

No - in fact she's never even been on the horses here at home on any of ther visits. That'll be in our future I'm sure.

Awwwww, they're gorgeous! I'll bet Boo catches up with Bridley by the time they grow up. He was probably just getting crowded when they were still inside their Mama. Are they both nursing ok?

Cuddle Time

Baby Boo has figured out how to time his meals when Big Bridey is asleep. They're both nursing strongly and Mom is an exemplary parent.

Our luck through this whole event has been nothing short of miraculous.
Everything has gone our way, except the rainy, stormy cool weather, but now that they need to get out and gambol, even that seems to be breaking for us.
We've been truly blessed.

That's hard to believe, as much as she loves horses. I'll bet she'll enjoy the heck out of it whenever she does get to go because the scenery will be so different from what she's seen on the trail rides she's been on in Florida. It'll be an exciting time for her and her girls all around. I'm thrilled for them.

Wow! That's a calendar-quality picture if I've ever seen one! SO cute! I'm glad that everything is working out. It really makes you aware that God is looking out for you doesn't it. Thanks for sharing your good fortune with us!

I wouldn't mind if the little guy got the small side of the family gene pool.
Dad was a 15 hand Connemara pony, clever, handy and of great heart.
He has Dad's dishy face, so maybe he'll show some of that line.
