The FreeRepublic Saddle Club - Who's Who *pics*

This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share. In the previous threads we have had a great time talking through lessons, training, horse lamenesses, illnesses and pregnancies... and always sharing pictures and stories.

I always have a link to this thread on my profile page, so if you have something to say and can't find the thread in latest posts… look for it there and wake the thread up!

I also have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and MissTargets will now be pinging everyone most mornings. Let MissTargets and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list. As FreeRepublic is a political site, our politics and other issues will probably blend in…. There are many issues for horsemen that touch politics… land use, animal rights/abuse cases that make the news…. Legislation that might affect horse owners.

So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends. There are lots of ways of doing things and we all have our quirks, tricks and specialties that are neat to learn about.

Morning. Well I guess I'll make a full day of work today:') I've really been fortunate and had an easy time with having those teeth pulled. If only my husband had not elbowed me in the jaw last night:')

Tweek's been laying in that basket all this time because she knows how good she looks against those towels and has been wondering why it took you so long to realize it too and take her picture. Jeez Hair! How slow can you be?! ;o)

Boy, those are great pics of the horses! Especially the ones of Pony. She's always the best subject. I guess Bay found out what would happen if he bit the pony on the butt...he'd get his teeth kicked out. LOL! You can really see him tensing his mouth up in that shot. He just KNEW his teeth were history. Talk about slamming on the brakes! And the one with the PonyAfterBurners on was great. Can you imagine riding that little sawed off bugger when she's moving like that?! She could cut so fast she'd turn you inside out before you knew it. Cyn looks good too. Looks like everybody is shedding out nicely and is in good weight. Not too fat and not too skinny. They should be ready for the spring riding season with no problem.

...After work, I am going to pick up my new truck...

Is this a NEW new truck, or just new to you?

Oh, well that's good then. I can stand that. Hopefully she won't try to drown you in your own saliva. I hate it when they do that! They sit there and clean and clean and never seem to notice that your mouth is filling up and you're about to choke to death.

Actually, that post was about "her" the pony, not "her" Tweek, but The kittens and the squirrels are still in a period of game playing... sometimes the kittens make a stab at going after them, but they've got no chance in the trees.

The kittens did get a dove though, which was sad... but they also got a mole, which earned them great praise... These are distinctions and values they don't understand.

Yeah, I hate it when they catch birds, but I don't scold them for it. Like you say, they don't know the difference. Good Job on them catching the mole though. That must've been tough coz they would've had to've seen the dirt moving and dug him up before he could get away. They're so nasty looking too. I hate moles. They're all over the place in my yard and they've been digging under the gravel walkways I've had put down and you'll be walking along and the ground gives way under your foot. I've thought about getting some of those little harpoon-like mole traps to stick in the ground to get rid of them.

We have tried those little harpoon like traps and the moles dig around them. Those ugly little critters have learned not to dig in the dogs yard cause the dogs will get them, terriers are great at that, so they dig along the fence line where the dogs cannot get them. We have tried the harpoon traps, the mole peanuts, the smoke bombs, nothing seems to work on those things!

Well Darn! I guess the only real way to get rid of them then is to get rid of the grub worms that they eat. You know we were talking about that last year, about spraying Milky Spore bacteria on the yard to kill the Japanese Beetle grubs. Did you ever get any of that stuff?
