This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share. In the previous threads we have had a great time talking through lessons, training, horse lamenesses, illnesses and pregnancies... and always sharing pictures and stories.
I always have a link to this thread on my profile page, so if you have something to say and can't find the thread in latest posts… look for it there and wake the thread up!
I also have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and MissTargets will now be pinging everyone most mornings. Let MissTargets and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list. As FreeRepublic is a political site, our politics and other issues will probably blend in…. There are many issues for horsemen that touch politics… land use, animal rights/abuse cases that make the news…. Legislation that might affect horse owners.
So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends. There are lots of ways of doing things and we all have our quirks, tricks and specialties that are neat to learn about.

When I was up at Rainier Nat. Park last summer, they had hilarious signs warning people NOT to feed the squirrels, and it had this graphic picture of squirrels attacking people to scare people into obeying :~D
I think the little boogers can get aggressive if you don't give them what they want:)

Well, I don't know how many new fronds you're going to get this year... the first year looks like it might be a little puny ;~D They'll send up new fronds for a period of time usually, there may be more in the works... fertilize the heck out of it and see :~D
They must have. I didn't have anything for it to eat, but that must have been what it was looking for. There was another squirrel that was on the grass in front of my car, but that is as close as it got. They got to chasing each other after awhile.
Hahaha!!! They need that here too, I think. The raccoons at my work got really brave and would challenge people coming near the trash bins. That stopped once the security guard smashed the trash and nearly got the raccoon in the process. They need a healthy fear of people.
I've been spraying it with miracle grow once a week.

I have only had death with Miracle Grow. I have had flowers and I put that in their water and they die. What the heck?
I've had good luck with Miracle grow, but it's really concentrated, maybe you mixed in too much :~\
That is possible. I don't remember how much I put in. The directions only gave how much to put in a gallon of water, but I just put some in every time I watered it. I probably over fed.
I don't know. I've read on the box you can't overfeed with it.
I've always used one of those miracle grow sprayers that dilutes it automatically. I use it about once a week till everything is good and established, then back off to just whenever I get a wild notion too use it:).

Now I'm cool with water and tubes (as long as I'm floating down the river with a cold drink in my hand:')
A wonderful feeling. As I mentioned my knees usually bother me but not this time. I did notice today that other areas that usually don't get sore are sore. My shoulders and my stomach muscles. It only bothers me when I lean forward though so... today I walked down halls like I was standing up straight but leaning back a bit. It actually made me feel taller:')
So when are you riding again?

Hopefully, this evening. I was going to yesterday but I had to work late. I'm scheduled tomorrow for sure though.
