The FreeRepublic Saddle Club - Who's Who *pics*

This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share. In the previous threads we have had a great time talking through lessons, training, horse lamenesses, illnesses and pregnancies... and always sharing pictures and stories.

I always have a link to this thread on my profile page, so if you have something to say and can't find the thread in latest posts… look for it there and wake the thread up!

I also have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and MissTargets will now be pinging everyone most mornings. Let MissTargets and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list. As FreeRepublic is a political site, our politics and other issues will probably blend in…. There are many issues for horsemen that touch politics… land use, animal rights/abuse cases that make the news…. Legislation that might affect horse owners.

So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends. There are lots of ways of doing things and we all have our quirks, tricks and specialties that are neat to learn about.

Oh my, be sure to clean it well. Cats claws tend to be kind of dirty. My arms look like someone took razor blades to them because of my cats :) They forget we aren't made of steel I think. Kittens especially, figure you can save them from anything.

I didn't kill her, no... :~D

She needs to have those instincts, I don't really fault her.

I'll enjoy the company if she wants to but don't make her. If I bring her back I need to spend Friday night in Waco though. I want to get up early and cut thru Victoria and look for land on the way back.

Remember last night how I said I like trucks? Well I don't like the little ones. My car is getting brakes and I'm driving my husbands little standard Sonoma. Nuh uh. No thanks.

Ouch!

Bink use to play rough and scratch us sometimes, It really stings, but I always thought it was a bit funny. But the year after my daughter got married they got a new cat that liked to play like that, and would scratch you pretty good. Then both Jenny and Travis actually got "Cat Scratch Fever", Travis had to have surgery because of it and have a lymph node removed from his neck. Now I'm really careful about letting a cat scratch me or anyone. Be Sure to keep an eye on it and if you get any swellings or run a low grade fever that's probably what it is. Jenny never had a swollen glands so she just had to take antibiotics. I'd never heard of it before then.

So what did you think of 24:). I figured the VP was to obvious of a target. I kept thinking it was going to be Aaron and I didn't want it to be him. From something I read Audrey's father is suppose to be in this season too, I was wondering about him.

I still don't care for Wayne Palmer.

Good Morning.

Frog, very nice pictures, and I really liked the clips. So sorry, you fell off. Do you feel like you have been hit by a truck today?

Wow Hair, so close to your eye. Bay might have just twisted something out there romping around. Is there any heat anywhere?

Good morning all.

Still thinking about that pickup.

The price is right, it's just a matter if I want that much truck.

Went riding with a group of people I have ridden with for years. Each month in the winter we are invited to a different ranch. This one was in the south Texas brush country 8 miles from the Rio Grande. Will post a picture so you can see the country that illegals are traveling through.

They are becoming extremely wary (the ranch owners.)

They said it had been sitting there six months without being sold.

Is this truck at a dealer's? If so, tell them to put new tires on it. Also, make sure the battery is ok. Sitting for so long, is not good. A 3/4 ton truck should have a heavy duty suspension. Check the owners manual first before you do any beefing up. My 1/2 has a towing package. The hitch is installed on the frame. Sounds like a pretty cool truck thou. ;')

Oh jeeze.... That's all I need! :~\

The scratch on my eye is actually OK... She got me on my hands as well, and those hurt more and my fingers are a little swollen... The more I move the easier they move, just got stiff over night.

I've got to go today up to the beach house to do taxes - my tax situation is even uglier than this cat scratch.

But it means I won't really get a chance to evaluate if there's really something happening with Bay until tomorrow. Nothing visible about him last night.... No swelling or heat anywhere.

So what did you think of 24:).

Not sure I'm buyin' it yet. Logan's not that good. I don't think it makes sense with how he's been so far.

That's exactly what Mack and I think. Mack says they've jumped the shark:), I think there is still more to it, that we haven't got the whole story yet about Logan's involvement.

I don't know how common cat scratch fever is. I had just never heard of it. When Bink use to scratch us I always found that the scratches itched in a very irritating painful way. I've wondered if the problem with cat scratches comes from the fact that they bury their poop and probably carry microscopic germs from it on their claws.

It's possible that his involvement is new... and someone is driving him around... That's the only way they haven't jumped the shark ;~D

Hey, did you catch the news last night on Fox. The lead story was about a kid in the Bixby Middle School arrested for selling Addarol to his classmate.
