This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share. In the previous threads we have had a great time talking through lessons, training, horse lamenesses, illnesses and pregnancies... and always sharing pictures and stories.
I always have a link to this thread on my profile page, so if you have something to say and can't find the thread in latest posts look for it there and wake the thread up!
I also have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and MissTargets will now be pinging everyone most mornings. Let MissTargets and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list. As FreeRepublic is a political site, our politics and other issues will probably blend in . There are many issues for horsemen that touch politics land use, animal rights/abuse cases that make the news . Legislation that might affect horse owners.
So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends. There are lots of ways of doing things and we all have our quirks, tricks and specialties that are neat to learn about.

New folk and occasional posters, jump right in and introduce yourselves, tell us about your horses, and post pictures if you've got them!
'Mornin Cav! I haven't talked to you in a while. Didja ever get that bus you bought back home?
Things are greening up around here very fast now. The rain and now the warm temps, and sun. I can't wait anymore to start planting:). I went ahead a put out the sunflowers I had started in my trays, and in a bit (when my back stops aching:), I'm going to plant some zinnia's that I've started. I hardened them off for 3 days. We'll see how they make it. I think they're pretty hardy.
Anyway, yeah I have a birdbath, but I don't see any larve in it. I change the water in it everyday. I have a small swimming pool too for the dogs. That could be a source. Just didn't think about it.
I'm pretty happy with the way Harley worked yesterday. It was a good start anyway. I have a feeling he'll really do well today.

Good morning, Sure did ... behind a tow truck......
Finally got it out of the repir shop yesterday. The bad news is that it will have to go back for more tuning........argh!
Aw man! Sorry to hear about that. Hopefully it ain't another money pit like the trackloader.
Thanks! It is hard to believe that I brought him home in my shirt pockect when I found him under the tractor that day.
So far it hasn't been too bad, just aggravating.
He was a lucky kitty, that's for sure, coz something might have eaten him otherwise. But even if it hadn't, wild kitties don't exactly have the standard of living that he enjoys now. ;o)
I think he will agree that he enjoys life to the fullest now......... : )
Does Cav's kitty have a tail, or is it just hiding under his butt? :-)
Just checked on the N.O. flooded bus on ebay and the bid was 2,100.00. Guess I was wrong........
Nope, he's a "Stumpy". There's maybe one joint there, just enough for him to wag around under the skin, but that's all. That's why we started calling him Little Bear when we got him. Manx cats that have no tail at all are called "Rumpys". Or at least that's what Cav told me. But he may be pulling my leg. He's been known to do that. ;o)
Or Richard Shatner's kidney stones!
Or William Shatner's either! ;o)
LOL!!
The other day, I saw somebody trying to sell a porkchop that was shaped like a German Shepherd's head. Go figure! There are some strange folks out there!
The bus bids have reached 5,100.00 now, LOL!
Tossed it over his back, around his butt, around his legs, swung it over his head, down his face, spanked the ground on both sides and in front of him, with the whip really whistling. He just stood there, even went to licking some. I think tomorrow I will tie a plastic bag on the end of the whip:)
Here's a few pictures, hope you're not tired of looking at basically the same things.
Becky
