The FreeRepublic Saddle Club - Who's Who *pics*

This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share. In the previous threads we have had a great time talking through lessons, training, horse lamenesses, illnesses and pregnancies... and always sharing pictures and stories.

I always have a link to this thread on my profile page, so if you have something to say and can't find the thread in latest posts… look for it there and wake the thread up!

I also have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and MissTargets will now be pinging everyone most mornings. Let MissTargets and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list. As FreeRepublic is a political site, our politics and other issues will probably blend in…. There are many issues for horsemen that touch politics… land use, animal rights/abuse cases that make the news…. Legislation that might affect horse owners.

So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends. There are lots of ways of doing things and we all have our quirks, tricks and specialties that are neat to learn about.

Oh, some news of sorts. I just had a blood test last week and got the results. My serum calcium and my ionized calcium is elevated. Anyway, I'm getting refered to a specialist I guess, however, it's possible that the problem is a parathyroid - which would cause the fatigue, pain, ostioperosis (sic), etc. so it may be that I don't have fibromyalgia (which would be so cool) and have something that can be fixed.

Good. Planning my retirement. I just found out today that one of the CEOs at a sister hospital in Laredo has a ranch. He's supposed to call me this week. That would be a great place to haul my horses to if a storm threatening.

I don't extend my arms forward, but I do let the reins slide through my hands. I just didn't know what you meant by "sliding back"

Just a different way we were taught I guess. The main thing is that "whatever" I'm doing , I'm getting a better seat and better rein control now. My seat has always been good until the reins rattled me. Now I've noticed my hands are working indepenently of my butt.:')

Bob buried her. My DIL thinks she bloated, maybe from eating too fast.

Good Morning. Boy, I wish it would warm up. 20 degrees below normal is not good.

Oh Duchess, that is good news. Hoping and praying for you, that you get better.

We are very very windy here this morning, and chilly. I just looked at the forecast we have a 20% chance of SNOW!!! What a crazy mixed up winter this has been.

I'm going by the saddle shop today, to see about my saddle. It is "suppose" to be ready tomorrow. With the weather so nasty, I won't be "Too" disappointed if it's not, but I sure hope I can get it by the weekend.

Oh, Good morning:)

Becky

Wouldn't you think that someone who was going to by a 50000 stud horse would have ..ah.. checked under the hood first?

Yeah. It's not clear from the article tho if his other testicle finally descended. If it didn't that horse shouldn't be used for stud, so he has a point. Yeah the horse can still breed but it's still a very bad for a stud to have a one not down, and something he could pass on to his get.

I wish you all could see my dog and cat. I don't know what's got into them this morning. They are chasing each other all over the place:). They were standing at one of the office doors, Susie took off one way and Bink turned to go the other way and headed her off:). When the cat gets like this, I think Susie actually gets afraid of him, she's sitting at my feet, and Bink is across the room staring at her, you can tell it makes her nervous:)

Sorry, I've been rolling watching them all morning:)
