This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share. In the previous threads we have had a great time talking through lessons, training, horse lamenesses, illnesses and pregnancies... and always sharing pictures and stories.
I always have a link to this thread on my profile page, so if you have something to say and can't find the thread in latest posts… look for it there and wake the thread up!
I also have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and MissTargets will now be pinging everyone most mornings. Let MissTargets and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list. As FreeRepublic is a political site, our politics and other issues will probably blend in…. There are many issues for horsemen that touch politics… land use, animal rights/abuse cases that make the news…. Legislation that might affect horse owners.
So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends. There are lots of ways of doing things and we all have our quirks, tricks and specialties that are neat to learn about.

How many riders get killed in this race? Are they all nuts?
We are remodeling our den. I wanted a small table with two chairs that I could put by the wall. I found some plain jane ones for under 200 dollars. This one needs stripping and painting but I thought it had "charcter"
They have killed riders before, lots get hurt, and they lose at least one horse just about every year. They're worse than nuts... I wouldn't give a damn if a bunch of drunk yahoos ran down that hill alone, if they didn't involve obedient horses in it.
Hey, I didn't have time this morning, and just now remembered to tell you, believe it or not, Woody showed up here this morning:). No kidding, I very seldom see one of them around here, but there was one in the trees behind my house this morning, I was so excited:)

And, by the way, they aren't horsemen. No horseman would treat his horse like that.
Too cold to hose ours off too.

Oh, I love it:). That's the kind of table I wanted for my living room. One that had fold up/out sides. I don't use a table often, but I like to have one to put puzzles together once in a while, so I need it big, sometime.
That's great. Did you get it at a garage sale or something?

I like that table alot... it would be great for jigsaw puzzles :~D
I used to do jigsaw puzzles all the time while I watched TV.... Until the 'puter took over. :~\
This is only one side up. It's heavy and makes a big table for company.
Harley probably won't get a bath till I get him ready in May for the John Zink ride. Giving horses baths is alot of work, especially if they still have winter hair. It's hard to get them wet/sudsy all the way thru that stuff, and it defeats the purpose if you don't.
Rocky is really shedding now, Harley is just starting. You can pull it out fairly easy, but it's not just flying off by itself like Rocky's is.

A garage sell. Eddie wanted me to buy myself a new one but I just liked this one. I don't care for the blond color though. What color would you paint it?

Un huh. I wanted it where two could eat , watching tv and for my grandson who loves to put puzzles together and play checkers with me.

I'd probably just strip the varnish, sand it down and leave it natural.
Actually, I probably wouldn't do anything:). You know how that stuff goes:).
Color, depends on what the rest of your decor is.

There isn't a leaf. Both sides raise up. I only opened one. Funny looking legs though:')
Well I really like it. My mother and grandmother all had tables like that.
