OH - I'm sorry Duchess, on the loss of your kitty. :~(
It's always sad to lose them, but good to know we gave them a good life. Had she been ailing or was it sudden?

She was beautiful

Cyn's feet are very square like that too.

I've only seen the shoes on that forum... Is he using them on Harley or did he just show them to you?

He just showed them too me, since I was talking about them. He said Harley didn't need them because his feet are good, and he grows plenty of heel...??? Not sure what all that meant. He said they wouldn't hurt him, he just didn't need them.

She'd been sick for almost a week. She went into the vet Sunday and then again yesterday. They discovered with a barium xray that she had a string impaction.

From eating a string? Awwww - that's too bad.

I imagine it was a piece of string or thread or something similiar - non metal anyway. It didn't show up on regular xrays. I think it must have been completely accidental, something she got in her mouth that she couldn't get out.

And too much of it for her to pass it...

Logan passed quite a bit of stuff like that in his life... But a kitty doesn't have the kind of power gut a Lab has, I guess.

Apparently sometimes string can pull and tighten and cut off circulation to the bowels. I guess it just doesn't always move through smoothly at a regular pace.

I was looking at pictures of my horses that are on my computer. So far, Lacey, Josey and Sonny all have a single swirl (at least that's visible in pictures) between their eyes. I'm really curious to get out and see what Dusty's is, and Prez. They are my two problem children, opening gates, etc.

All ours are just single swirl too, about level with the eyes. The horse the guy brought it up about was Cadence, the little foal you've seen me ponying... she had 3 or four swirls, some joined, and he said she was gonna be nuts.

I can see string doing that. I'm so sorry for the way she went. It'd have been hard to find out what was wrong.

She was apparently in no pain, for which I'm really thankful. It is very difficult to accept.

The appy that I ride has a huge swirl in the middle of his forehead. I really need to get pictures of him. I think he has a little bit of draft in him because his legs are really solid, and they have long hair on them. I can't tell if it's "feathers" because there's not nearly enough to be real feathers or just hairy winter legs. (Maybe I should get him a razor blade) *rimshot*

These are some of the horses and it's difficult to tell on some of them just where the swirls are. I will still have to go out and get better pictures.

I don't see more than one on any of them.... Do you?

Thanks, I love it here :)

Why are you feeling sorry for yourself? You said you were treating yourself to extra riding. Is everything okay?

I can't tell on Friday or Prez but the rest look like one to me. I don't have a good head shot to include of the rest of them. I am fascinated though by the theory and intent to get out and get pictures of all of them. I'll have to figure out how to photoshop them all into one so it doesn't take up so much space.

Ah - space we got, and I like horse faces :~D

I wish I had a head shot of Cadence that showed all hers. I don't. She's the first horse I've ever noticed that had more than one.
