This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share. In the previous threads we have had a great time talking through lessons, training, horse lamenesses, illnesses and pregnancies... and always sharing pictures and stories.
I always have a link to this thread on my profile page, so if you have something to say and can't find the thread in latest posts look for it there and wake the thread up!
I also have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and MissTargets will now be pinging everyone most mornings. Let MissTargets and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list. As FreeRepublic is a political site, our politics and other issues will probably blend in . There are many issues for horsemen that touch politics land use, animal rights/abuse cases that make the news . Legislation that might affect horse owners.
So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends. There are lots of ways of doing things and we all have our quirks, tricks and specialties that are neat to learn about.

New folk and occasional posters, jump right in and introduce yourselves, tell us about your horses, and post pictures if you've got them!
And now blue sky... Around here in spring, if you don't like the weather, wait 15 minutes :~D
Tucker Wayne, 7:37am, 7lbs 1oz, 20 1/2 inches long.

Becky
Congratualations. He's beautiful.
I just noticed this post was just right after mine. What were you up for at 2:30 in the morning?
Becky
Was 1:30 my time - I was sleepwalking :~D
I was wondering about that. I was checking the national radar, because we're supposed to get severe weather here this afternoon, and I like to check all the places where Saddle Club members live to see how their weather is doing and I saw that it looked like snow or a mix coming down over in your neck of the woods. It's 70-something here and extremely windy. I don't like days like this!
Snow sure is pretty while it's falling, but I'm ready for spring!
Woo-HOO!!
Just popped in for a baby-check and lo and behold!
He's marvelous, Becky. Que Dios lo bendiga siempre. :-D
Hair, that first pic of the horse in a snowstorm framed by trees is a really good one!
Well, you don't get up in the middle of the night to birth babies every day :~D
I 'm going to do some homemade testing with Cindydawg. You know how I told you she has been acting up and not coming when I call her? It's gotten where she doesn't even come when I call her in the back yard. I think she may be losing her hearing. The wind blew the gate open and I saw her a few blocks down. I called her and she just kept going. I'm muttering, I'm gonna kick your old butt as I followed. She stopped and turned around , her tail came up and she came running to me like she just saw me and followed me home.
I went out and took some more goofin' off pics with the horses out... It was really coming down there for awhile. I'm ready for spring too, but this was a rather interesting surprise snow day.
Pony with her eyes closed...
Bay's trying to walk without getting snow on his face...
Cyn doesn't care if she has snow on her face...
Bay running in... still trying to keep the snow off his face ;~D
I was trying to herd them back into the paddock, 'cuz if the snow's gonna keep coming down, the pasture fence loses it's integrity... but they didn't want to cooperate, and kept running back out. When you can't do anything else about it, take pictures ;~D
I finally poured some grain on the ground to keep them in long enough for me to close the gate :~D
Wow! It really has been coming down!
I'm sorry - Grand-SON! It's her daughter's child... ~blush~
Oh how SWEET!
Congrats, sis!
