Citing sources close to the kidnappers, Alrai Television in Kuwait reported Friday that U.S. journalist Jill Carroll's kidnappers set "a final deadline of February 26" for their demands to be met. It would be the second deadline set by her abductors, who have repeatedly said they will kill Carroll if the United States does not release all female prisoners it has in custody in Iraq. The kidnappers said they would be adhering to "rightful law" in killing Carroll, according to the private Kuwaiti station's chairman, Jassim Boodai. Boodai would not reveal the source, but said the information is "fresh."

Hmmm...we promise, this time for sure.
I'm sorry to be so insensitive about this story but to me it seems like such a fake. I thought the Mujahadeen was in Afghanistan? Is she implying that Al Qaida is the ideological heir to the Mujahadeen? (Something I've heard denied -- on the other had if the Mujahadeen is in Iraq there just might be a firm link between Saddam Hussein and Al Qaida.
Even if she is killed, I'll still think it was a scam gone bad.

So, am I correct in assuming that there will be massive protests & rioting in the streets from muslims protesting this act of barbarism in the name of islam?

Citing sources close to the kidnappers I am beginning to wonder where the line between news and satire is these days.

Even if she is killed, I'll still think it was a scam gone bad. You and me both...

I join you both in that assessment.

I join you both in that assessment I think many of us feel this way. I'd feel bad if something happened to her, but it just seems ... phony.

This might have been a phony kidnapping. But I think in the end the result is going to be the real death of Jill Carroll.

I believed her story at first. This is mostly because of the killing of the translator and the violence of the kidnapping.
I'm not sure because of the other hostage women. I particularly remember the horrible Sgrena who lied and lied and recalled to her Communist readers how she told her "kidnappers" how they had to make her pleas sound more desperate and pathetic.
Sgrena...terrorist fund raiser.
I don't know what to make of Jill...I'm thinking more of Patty Hearst, not involved w/the kidnapping but gradually is recruited into the cell.
I expect that on the 26th we'll get a tape of Jill giving us her new Islamic name. I guess an IED attack led by Jill will be the equivalent of the bank robbery. Who knows?

Would only remind people that his the same Jill Carroll who was a friend of Marla Ruzicka and wrote most of the revisionist articles mourning her death.
We need to keep that in mind. Might be more karma.
