I've voted in every single election since I turned 18. My father was born in a communist country - I believe it isn't just my right - but my duty to vote.
I live in a state that has dozens of propositions we need to vote on each year. I spend some quality time researching each of these and then make a cheat sheet to use when I get to the polling place.
One year, I had just had surgery - and wasn't yet "up and around" but called a friend who drove me over so that I could vote.
It's that important to me.
Voting is indeed a serious civic duty.
Yet, it is wryly humorous to me that this is allowed of the totally uninformed and the deliberately self-deceived.
