PEACE BE TO YOU. I HAVE $24,700,000 (US) FROM MY SISTER-IN-LAW's LATE MOTHER-IN-LAW WHO WAS THE MINISTER OF OIL DISTRIBUTION IN ALGIERS BEFORE HE DIED. I NEED TO TRANSFER IT ALL OFFSHORE INTO YOUR ACCOUNT AND AM WILLING TO GIVE YOU 10% OF THE PROCEEDS. I JUST NEED YOU WIFE'S DEBIT CARD NUMBER TO CHECK OUT THIS PROBLEM YOU HAVE DISCUSSED AND THEN COMPLETE THE TRANSACTION.
LEAVE THE NUMBER ON THIS THREAD AND ONE OF MY MANY ASSISTANTS WILL TAKE CARE OF IT FOR YOU.

Nationwide network down, hmm? Have you actually SEEN the card she tried to use...

All your credits and debits are belong to us.

Haven't seen anything regarding this. Did the store person happen to say this and then use an old imprint credit card machine to process the transaction? If he did, he has her card number imprinted on the card, where he can copy it down for later use.
I had a Target check out clerk act like she put my credit card receipt in my bag one Christmas years ago, and when I went home and later looked in the bag and didn't see the ticket, I blew it off thinking I misplaced it. Next month I had a $200 TV charged to my account. You gotta watch just about everyone now.

Wife with credit card and ATM not working, how lucky some people can be. Darn, some people have all the luck.

Yes, and according to Howard Dean, it's Bush's fault.

Nope, not until now.....
But be happy, you may have saved a few bucks today.
I travel a lot and quite frequently I find gasoline pumps not taking credit cards due to connection problems such as phone lines, etc. And have seen it happen once in a while in grocery stores where communication is down for some reason or other....

This happened for a couple of hours a few years ago. It wasn't all transactions, but one of the largest credit card transaction processing companies' system went down, so it was pretty widespread. Didn't last long though.
To: OldCorps
Used mine at 4:30 and no one mentioned anything.

He probably meant the CC machines were down for that chain of stores across the US.
