I think this is what revitalized the Steelers and sunk the Seahawks. Everyone knew it was coming except the Seahawk defense.

Pittsburgh will throw a ticker-tape parade Tuesday morning to celebrate the Steelers' first Super Bowl victory in 26 years. The parade of Steelers players and high school marching bands will set out from Mellon Arena at 11 a.m. and proceed down Centre Avenue. The marchers will turn left on Sixth Avenue, go right on Fifth Avenue, turn left on Liberty Avenue and stop near the Pittsburgh Hilton Hotel near Gateway Center, Downtown, said Public Works Director Guy Costa.

First of all - I am a Jets fan (talk about whining opportunities!).
Second, the BS calls against the Seahawks definitely changed the character of the game - noticeably so.
Third, (although I have just changed it) my "There is no substitute for victory" tagline was a paraphrase of Gen. George Patton... "In war, there is no substitute for victory!"
Don't make too many assumptions, FRiend. I complain about the officiating because I firmly believe it severely detracted from the game - and the victory on behalf of the Steelers, for that matter.
The 75 yard run, BTW, was a brilliantly executed play - and a real b@llbreaker for the Seahawks.
The long TD pass was a direct result of bad calls against Seattle, though - both the spurious holding and the tackling below the waist flags.
Bottom line - The Steelers didn't win it. The Seahawks lost it, but the Steelers didn't win it. JMHO.
Ummm... No, sir. There was a sideline commentary segment right after the interception and tackling below the waist penalty that highlighted the change in the Steelers' moods. I believe it was just before Randel El's nifty pass (heck of a play).

Just last night I was saying someone needed to make a Sore Loserman sign w/a Seahawks logo.
It should be ticker tape, black and gold balloons and tons of cheering fans, and I will be there in spirit.

You're just swinging at anyone who points out the truth. But I'll set you straight. I have not started any of my posts with "I'm not a Seahawks fan but" because I happen to be a Seahawk fan. I do not hate the Steelers, I hate games where the officiating is so horrific that the result of the game is changed or questionable because of it. There are actually players on the Steelers that I like, I have no hatred for the city of Pittsburgh or the state of PA. Got it?
Are you also aware that bad officiating cost the Steelers "D" two fumble recoveries. And that the Steelers QB was pushed in the back, dead in the numbers after he threw an interception, with no penalty called?

The play was "behind" Ben and by running the direction he was and not turning to confront the play, chances are he was considered to be turning his back to the play in order to draw a block-in-the-back penalty or to keep from being blocked. No referee will ever call that as penalty on the blocker. You can't "back-in" to a block.
One was down by contact, the other rolled out of bounds and would have been a very large gain for the Seahawks. So, wrong.

Perhaps you missed this from one of the articles that has been posted:
Consider: The Seahawks lost 161 yards to penalties when you combine the penalty yards (70) and the plays the flags wiped out (91). By halftime alone, when it trailed 7-3, Seattle had had 73 hard-earned yards and a touchdown eliminated.
The Steelers did not lose anything close to 161 yards from ref calls.

Absolutely not. They might have won, but we will never know because of the world class horrific officiating.
Yes, it's called an illegal block to the back, it was blatant and it was ignored. The refs also called an obvious Jeramy Stevens fumble an incomplete pass-a horrible and unreviewable call. There was rampant holding going on by the Seahawks that wasn't called. Yes, the officiating was horrible, but it didn't give the Steelers the game.
Did the refs allow Parker to break a 75 yard run from scrimmage? Did the refs force Stevens to drop 3 passes? Did the refs cause Seattle's kicker to miss two field goals? Did the refs totally snow the Seahawks defense with a beautiful fleaflicker?
I'm so glad my kids aren't old enough to be reading any of this crap. We try to teach them about good sportsmanship and losing gracefully, but this post season has been all about whining babies blaming their losses on everyone else but their own teams.
