I would also do away with the "ground can't cause a fumble" rule. If you don't have the ball put away...tough. The ground damn well can cause a fumble -- if Hasslebeck hadn't been grazed by the defender, he wouldn't have been down by contact and the fumble would have stood.

Hasselbeck's fumble looked like a fumble to me. As much as I hate Instant Replay it worked there.
