I have zero interest in Lost, 24, The Unit, and most other tv shows. I do, however, enjoy Boston Legal even though it's a liberal propaganda show. Now TAR will be on at the same time.
For the second season in a row, it seems that the producers and network are trying to murder TAR. The show got an emmy two seasons ago so they came up with that dismal family version last season followed by this timeslot change where it will NOT attract any new viewers and may well lose old ones. Like me.
And I do notice a kind of nastiness in the show's decision process about who from middle America can be a contestant. Apparently, you have to be ugly, stupid, and obnoxious -- like the ugly glamazons == to represent middle America against attractive and educated gays and minorities.
My bet is on the black couple to win. This is based on the show's history: Every time a black couple has been on the show, they've won. I loved the earlier black contestants because they were polite, educated, upscale first-rate people. Trouble was, they were more educated, smart, and with-it than any of the non-blacks they raced against.
So, TAR really isn't that much fun for me any more, as the social engineering tips us off to the winners before the show even begins.
Did appreciate the helicopter views of Sao Paolo last week, however. Beyond the travelogue aspects of the show, though, what's to like? I can watch Boston Legal and flip over to TAR once in awhile to look at the scenery. Damn, I loved this show.
