Placemark and thanks for the reminder on President Palmers new show tonight. :)
I wonder if he will kneecap anyone. lol You know some show is going to start copying Jack!
You're welcome :) And that reminds me--this morning I caught an interview with Dennis Haysbert on the CBS Early Show. It mainly focused on The Unit, but they did talk about 24 and what he said really surprised me. So did his attitude.
Last year, before this season of 24 began filming, the producers contacted Haysbert and told him the plot and how David Palmer would be assassinated.
He was upset. "Why would they want to kill a president who is more popular than the one we really have", meaning President Bush, and he pointed to the bogus CBS poll as proof!
Haysbert then went on about how Palmer was "the first black president", beloved by the fans, etc. and they were just going to kill him off? He told the 24 producers they could kill Palmer off but he wouldn't film that scene. The producers said, "Okay, we'll just use a fake CNN report."
Haysbert laughed when he repeated this in the interview, as if they couldn't possibly film something like that without him.
IMO, he was very smug about this and my opinion of him dropped a few points. (We know eventually he did film the assassination scene so I guess the producers must've paid him enough to make it worth his while. So much for his moral objections.)
He then went on to talk--with great reverence--about his upcoming role as Nelson Mandela. Gag.
The interview left a bad aftertaste :-/
