The first application I supported ran on PCs and interfaced with the server via a heartbeat. The early PC software was lousy and we had to manually edit the registry of every computer we intalled the software on. We called it a two knuckle update, because every time you went to exit the registry you crossed your fingers. After updating about 300 computers I knew when I had blown the registry up and would call the tech support guys to come claim the PC and re-image it.AWB

The "76" stands for "1976."

You turn 30 this year? Man, I must be the youngest person around here. I don't know of anyone other than myself under 25.

Running Firefox would certainly be an improvement over IE but I think she still needs to clean out that reg first.
This seems to be related to Norton and the total removal of Norton and whatever Norton had left behind "lurking" in the reg.

Actually, I don't mind being 30.

I take it that the free version is limiting how many repairs she can make at once. It will probably take a while then.

I always figured the registry was the developers way of getting back at Gates for screwing him on the sale of DOS.AWB

Well almost all unregistered software is "crippled" in some way. They want you to register it. So they disable certain features.
