I did ask him why he did this and what I did and he said it has absolutely nothing to do with me, that he did not seek this, it just happened and now he feels God has brought them together which is hogwash, IMO.

Claiming it is the wife's fault that this man committed adultery is ridiculous. No one can cause another to commit adultery. We are each responsible for our own actions, and the actions of someone else can not be used as an excuse.
