SMITHLESS IN SEATTLE
I went into this game thinking if we could only contain Smith enough to keep him out of the end zone we might just have a chance beating the team with a worth nickname The Road Warriors. I never dreamed we could hold him to 33, repeat 33 yards receiving the whole game was simply amazing.
I think it was most enjoyable seeing how pissed off he was that he wasn't getting the ball. Or the fact that the second half, we see him sulking on the sidelines. Steve Smith making excuses for his dismal performance (there's four guys covering me man). And of course the cherry on top for all Hawk fans, him fumbling on the final series to seal the win for the Hawks.
It goes to show you that football is still a team sport, and that one man alone can't shoulder the load forever in the postseason. At least he said it best in his postgame interview about being "outmatched, outhustled, and were beaten in every way."
At least Delhomme had an excuse. He was playing without a running game, playing on the road and playing in front of 67,837 espresso-jacked fans. No way was Carolina going to win this game with the entire Pacific Northwest screaming in their helmet earholes.
I have been waiting for this moment since 1976.
Way To Go Seahawks. Finally Some Respect.
It was good to see Zorn and Kreig and Cortez Kennedy out there after the game. I think I saw Jacob Green too.
I have to be honest, I knew we would win because we are really that good. We are the most balanced team in the NFC, Alexander is great, we have the best o-line in football and Matt is a great leader. Watching each game you could see us overcoming our past right before our eyes. It's great. If you read my post, which I posted before the game, I had this nailed. Now lets see if those shit talkers will man up and admit they had it all wrong. I am in a forgiving mood I am so damn happy.
Another great thing about the Hawks, and Pittsburgh for that matter, is they are all good guys and good coaches. I like seeing good guys and team guys win and media hype punks lose. Not that Denver or Caro were punks or even media hype, although Carolina was hyped a bit, they're just not punks.)
