unidentified Bigfoot creatures emerged from the team's painstaking recordings and observations.

That's just Hildebeast routing around her old haunts.

Hello SoL,

On October 20, 1967, Roger Patterson and Bob Gimlin filmed was is reputed to be a female Bigfoot in the woods near Bluff Creek, California. We've all seen the famous photo taken from the film.

Roger Patterson died in the early 70s but Bob Gimlin is still alive (last I heard). I interviewed him in 1992 and asked him about that day. He told me point blank that if it was a hoax he wasn't in on it. He had a rifle with him and could've shot it, so if it was a man in a suit playing tricks, the situation could've turned deadly very quickly.

Many people now believe the film to be a hoax, perpetrated by Roger Patterson and the as-of-yet unknown other "participant", while Bob Gimlin was simply along for the ride and didn't know what was up. There is evidence that Patterson needed money. He did have a warrant out for his arrest for not bringing back the camera he had rented. Plus, he heads out into the woods and just happens to get footage of one of the creatures? Hmmm.... Patterson had also written a book on the subject prior to his shooting the famous footage and it's believed he was friendly with a well-known Bigfoot hoaxer (whose name escapes me at the moment). Ray Crock or something like that (I think!).

For my part, I found Bob Gimlin credible when he told me point blank, "I believe I saw Bigfoot that day". Of course, he is getting older and death has a funny way of bringing forth confessions. Patterson went to his death claiming it was real---we'll have to wait and see what happens with Mr. Gimlin.

Brian
