Exactly! I had tears in my eyes! That was the nicest thing I've ever seen Simon do!! He did it because when he asked the kid if anyone back home would be able to help him out with some professional instruction, and the kid said he doubted it, Simon actually had a heart to send this kid on to Hollywood.
The way I see it, they're giving the kid ~something~ just by letting him go to Hollywood. Even though he more than likely won't make it further than that.
And if they can send Crazy Dave thru, why not someone whose dream could be fulfilled?
Trust me. Simon Cowell doesn't have a heart. Anything he does, he does for himself. If he sent some kid with a sad story to Hollywood, it was to hook the gullible audience and keep the sad story going for a few weeks. It's an old showman's trick going back eons.
The Cowboy was a handsome Lad.
Nice family in the few minutes they showed his story.
Except doing his home on the range clip gave it away that he was going to Hollywood.
The little cowboy irritated me at first--he was so nervous and fidgety (and who wouldn't be?), but you're right, that was a nice gesture on Simon's part to let him go to Hollywood.
