WASHINGTON, D.C., January 30, 2006 – A new ad in support of the Patriot Act will begin airing tonight on the Fox Network’s Award-winning show, “24.”
The ad is sponsored by the Coalition for Security, Liberty and the Law, a project of the Center for Security Policy. It features Debra Burlingame directly and persuasively taking on the Act’s Senate opponents. Ms. Burlingame is the sister of Captain Charles F. “Chic” Burlingame who piloted American Airlines 77, the plane that was hijacked and flown into the Pentagon on September 11, 2001. In the years since that terrorist attack, she has become one of the most visible and highly respected spokespeople for 9/11 victims’ families and for the effort to prevent more such violence and loss in the future (see her op.ed. in today’s Wall Street Journal).
