It's just a TV show. I know, so you don't have to tell me.

But anyway, here's my gripes for this evening.

1) Why does FLOTUS have no secret service protection?
2) How could FLOTUS sneak out of a secured location where I would presume SS is positioned to prevent intruders?
3) How did yellow-tie guy get past the "security perimeter" at the airport, in order to get to the hanger that was outside the perimeter?
4) If the hanger was outside the perimeter, how did the fake SWAT truck get back INTO the perimeter so that it could later drive OUT of the perimeter past the guards?
5) Why is the guard at the airport perimeter bothering to hold a clipboard, if he's not checking license plates of vehicles coming and going?
6) What secure building lets visitors just wave in and out on a level-2 security clearance pass. My work isn't hardly secure at all, and we have to record all visitors and issue passes. I'm sure CTU used to make everybody get a pass.
7) In the middle of a crisis, a terror attack at an airport, former president is dead, agents are dead, nerve gas on the loose -- and CTU can't tell the president his chief of staff was running an illegal operation at CTU? In the real world we can get the chief of staff fired for lying to investigators about something that wasn't a crime, but here we can't warn the president that a traitor is in the white house? Aren't they worried the traitor might KILL the president or first lady, he's already had ample opportunity. Sorry, that whole "we need proof" doesn't cut it for me, its the hardest thing so far for me to accept. Secret Service would simply arrest him, and let someone else sort it out later.
8) I'm not positive about this: While Tony knew Jack was alive, he had no idea at the time of the bombing that Jack was involved in any way with what was happening. And it seems pretty sure that nobody would have told the doctor about Jack being back (although I guess the word would have spread). So it seemed just a bit suspicious to me that Tony, having awakened from being blown up, not knowing anything that had happened in the show other than that the former president had been killed, would ask to talk to Jack.

That's it for me. Chloe had the two best lines of the night, already pointed out by observant people above: "I just did" and "camamile tea".

Ever notice that sometimes Jack really tries to keep bad guys alive, while other times he just doesn't, but in either case they end up dead?

I think CTU could use some security guys actually monitoring the cameras.

I'm not too dissappointed in cell phones working at CTU. I don't think the security is actually a secret facility in the "DoD" sense of the term, more of an FBI-type "under wraps" kind of place where cell phones would be useful.

If FLOTUS wasn't groggy, she might have thought to ask her staff person who SHE told about the paper in her blouse. The staff person would then remember she told the COS, and that would confirm the stuff CTU had if they weren't keeping it secret rather than giving the information to the Secret Service. And they could always dust her for fingerprints...... :->

Last observation. While its great that FLOTUS escaped, I'm curious how she holds any real significance in this plot. She was going to be told by Palmer about "something", but she wasn't told, it wasn't in the communication, they all know Palmer knew something, and the plot is already public and ongoing. And now we know about the COS. So it will be interesting to see how any information she can provide will be of any real value.
