Yes it is.

I jumped in at the beginning of last season and not seeing the first three wasn't really a problem at all.

I would STRONGLY suggest rather than do that you tape it and begin with season 1 at the video store or at Suncoast. I have every season on DVD, and believe me, once you start, you won't stop.

I'm sure it's "stand-alone" enough that you could watch this series beginning tonight, but for all the background, you really need to see it from season one.
