I saw President Palmer interviewed on CNN, and he was annoyed that his character got killed off. He said he was against the concept of the first black president being asassinated.

On the promo at the end of a 24 DVD, the palmer actor said he based his character on his two fav presidents - carter and clinton, with a little Colin Powel thrown in. Gag me.
