I've tried a few times. Once again, IMO the current plot line is stupid for reasons stated. And the last one was way too convoluted. And the show downplays the Islamist threat. We are not being attacked by Chechens. And the premise that, until the Dems are back in the White House, we would aid Islamist terrorists (such as the KLA) is absurd.
The Dems are NOT in the White House now.
LOL! They are very addictive!!! I found a gif today that I can't wait to trot out on the next thread. :) Thank you for sending them to me. :)
Thanks!! I love the sunglasses one.
Keeler and Logan are Republicans.
Yes but in my mind they are democrats. :):) I can deal with them better that way.
Maybe, but if you look at how our democrats behave and how they are constantly trying to thwart any efforts to capture terrorists you can certainly envision all the conspiracy theories. Also look at Jon Walker Lindh, he was not your typical Muslim, in fact they try to bring the non-typicals in so that they can fool us.

Again, Chechens are Muslim. You are "stuck on" the idea that the only threat from Islam comes from Arabs. Who's downplaying what?
SD
I did not say Islamic. I said Islamist. Very different critter.
Everywhere Islam is, it sits on a bloody border. This is true whether it is in the Middle East, Indonesia, or central Asia.
Just say what you mean: you want all the terrorists shown on this TV show to be Arabs. I'm not sure why you have this particular obsession, but I have some ideas.
SD
Once again, I said ISLAMIST. Not Arab. There are Arabs who are not Islamist and there are Islamists who are not Arab. You keep attempting to blur that distinction.
The Chechens are in a hot war with Russia. That has been going on for some time.
I see that conflict as much more of a border war. 9-11 was not a border war. It instead is an ideological one - Islamism versus western values. That is the main battle we face.
So I see it as a very critical distinction.
Go away. You obviously cannot watch such a sophisticated show. Try Sesame Street.
Sophisticated?
Yeah, they create a device that controls every nuclear plant in the country to drive a storyline. That's real sophisticated.
More like real stupid. No such device would EVER exist, for obvious security reasons. There is enough real serious and interesting counterterrorism going on in the world that they shouldn't have to resort to that kind of idiocy.
Sesame Street is calling. ("One of these things is kinda the same thing, one of these things is not quite the same.")
Such a compelling comeback.
Guess what? It was weak the first time and even weaker the second time.
Do you think inventing a completely ludicrous and improbable device to drive your storyline is a sign of sophistication?
Or is it a sign that the writers on 24 are too lazy to look into current counterterrorism methods and processes to write a book? Unlike, say, Tom Clancy, who does a tremendous amount of research for his stories.
"One of these things is not quite the same . . . . " Must be damn effective to keep you pondering it.
Later.
One of the worst edited movies-for-TV I've ever seen was Major League. Esp. when Corbin Bernsen walks up to Charlie Sheen in the big finish game and is SUPPOSED to say "Strike this m*****f***** out." What comes out is:
"Strike this [pause/lower tone] guy [back to other tone] out."
Lame.
It took me 15 minutes to read that 'cause I was laughing so much!!!!!
THANKS
IS IT MONDAY YET!!!!!
I know this, Bill Buchanon is 100 times the leader Logan ever is. The shout out with White House geek(Sean Astin)was priceless.
