Gilchrist is supported by the Constitution Party (under whatever party name they call it in CA.) and I hope he runs for them rather than as a Republican. I truly believe in order to scare the Dems and Reps into needing a diaper change we need a strong third party to do it. Conservatives considering an alternative may want to check out the Constitution Party. I know they fit my perspective better than anyone else.

Happy New Year!

I support Jim Gilchrist and donated to his campaign. And will donate again if he runs for office in the future. I left the Republican Party and joined the Constitution Party because, like you, they fit my beliefs better.

His party affiliation was an ongoing and contentious issue in this last CA campaign for the Congressional seat.

And, thus, it's a remaining issue that clouded his presentation and would affect his future ones. I recognize, also, what someone else wrote here and that is that he'd not be able to run as a Republican given the time required for party registration prior to a campaign.

I'd like to hear him explain, however, what was - perhaps, remains - a confusing party affiliation by him because it still seems to me that Gilchrist encouraged the misperception of him, his affiliations, by alluding to the GOP and "party of Reagan" and yet not being a Republican after exploring his facts (and thus, it appeared that he was attempting to present as a Republican but was not and less curious and less motivated people could be easily confused as to what party he actually was affiliated with).

Feinstein is assuredly Democrat (d'oh) and commands (literally) assuredly liberal votes and support and positions so Gilchrist, by competition with that, would need to run on "liberal vs. conservative" and define what "conservative" was to him, inorder to make any headway.

And, I'm not sure now which party Gilchrist ran on in CA recently (Constitution or American Independent) but he has a website and it's there if you read through the links. I know I got some strange emails from someone supporting him who promoted the American Independent so that's why the association took hold.
