Amen to that!
"Ennis" ?? Don't tell me this name was naively chosen.
Sounds like the behavior of a bunch of jackass liberals.
There's a major difference between Marlboro Man and Brokeback Mountain that must be considered. American men have been using tobacco since 1607. Cigarettes, cigars and chewing tobacco were all common. Marlboro's rugged cowboy didn't convince men to suddenly and for the first time in our nation's history pick up a smoking habit. It just convinced those that already smoked to start buying Marlboros. Unlike smoking, homosexual behavior has never been an accepted part of our society, and that's where the comparison falls apart.
Nobody came to these shores to experiment in "alternative lifestyles" Many did come to grow tobacco.
David Kupelian could have saved himself about a thousand words in this explanation. The fact that leftists in Portland and Canada had their minds changed about homosexuals is not a persuasive argument. Hollyweird is full of propagandists who studied at the feet of Leni Riefenstahl.
To date, Brokeback's producers have carefully selected their markets, ensuring that gay-friendly audiences are readily available to sing the praises of their perverted film. I remain convinced that once the film is released to mainstream audiences, it will be a bomb that make the ones dropped in Japan at the end of WWII look like firecrackers.
IMO, Brokeback is nothing more than an additional indication of Hollyweird's continued demise and slide into irrelevance and degeneration.
And the left accuses conservatives of caring only about money. But when Clinton was selling nuclear secrets to China or otherwise failing miserably in his duty, the libs were eager to tell you how well the economy was doing.
In the end....NO ONE is being forced to go watch this film. Propaganda is usually government derived....sorry, if people are dumb enough to buy everything they see....
Agreed! I wouldn't see it if they paid me...It's IMO a tool for the queers to propagandize the red states...they obviously think macho types like cowboys would be more appealing in those regions then florists or hairdressers....
Not me! When I was a kid, everyone wanted to be the Indians. And of course, every adult we knew smoked.
The good old days, before smoking was outrageous and buggery was fashionable ...
Wonder what "The Duke" would say about this one...
That's par for the course. Go to any movie, and any scene that's meant to have strong emotional impact-the audience laughs. Doesn't matter what strong emotion the scene was INTENDED to evoke-the audience responds with laughter. It never fails. I noticed that back in the late 1990s, and it hasn't gotten any better : A scene may be intended to provoke fear, pity, wonder, whatever-the audience laughs.
My son had several friends visit over Christmas and I asked if any of them had heard about this movie. Every one of the 18-20 year old young men had seen the commercial for the "film" and had no idea it was about gays. I hope the populace isn't fooled into wasting their money only to walk out when they discover the true theme of this trash.
"Sounds like the behavior of a bunch of jackass liberals."
All "liberals" are jackasses, that's why the "Democratic" party has a jackass as it's symbol.
He would have remained silent because he wouldn't bite the hand that fed him like many in Hollywood now.
Thanks - I was just looking that up.
"So many sheep...so little time."
This is the classic case of homosexuality vs beastiality, or the choice between a hairy butt or a furry butt. DemonRATS, the party of choice. Ugh.
- Chronicles of Narnia - $146.5M
- Brokeback Mountain - $6.15M
BM is showing to about 4% of the audience Narnia is; it is preaching to the choir, and virtually no one else.
