but than I am from Michigan the only spirit we had was school when it use to be allowed!
and Yankee is an eastern thing but even in NY I never hear any thing negative do you Dark?
Only if the Mets are playing the Yankees and my brother in law has money on the Yankees.
Sweets 'supervisor' is one of the types who will use the word 'yankee' to insult people, despite being a yankee herself.
Don't hear the word too often here in NY except, as mentioned, during baseball games.
But I do recall hearing it in Oklahoma when used by Tenneseeans and Alabamans during my BASIC training at Fort Sill.
Though they didn't use it as an insult, just as a descritpive identifier like "Northerner", or "Jerseyan"
