If I read a book and then see the movie made from it, I'm always disappointed.........the casting is NOT what I imagined they looked like and they left out too much of the story!

If I see the movie before I've read the book, I like the book better because I get to cast the characters "better". Exception: Gone With the Wind.....perfect casting and some, but not tooooooooo much left out.

Yes - on books versus movies. I too prefer to use my imagination as to what the characters are like and they do leave out parts that to me are important. I think this comes from reading before ever having TV or going to movies much. I am in my 60's so remember a time when there was no tv. Also loved the radio programs especially on Sat. mornings "Let's Pretend".
