We will not tire, we will not falter, and we will not fail!
Good evening!!
Do not let the victims of the attacks on New York and Washington, nor the brave members of our Nation's military who have given their lives to protect our freedom, die in vain!!
The pummeling that movie theaters took in 2005 is sending crisis shock waves through Hollywild. Hint, guys, maybe a few less gay, lesbian, and transgender movies, and some more of what average America might like because, well, you're not reaching average America!
Before his trial, former Enron CEO Ken Lay has announced to the media that he was a victim of "a wave of terror" from prosecutors.
And Grey Lines is now offering a "New Orleans, Katrina--America's Worst Disaster" tour.
For AMERICA - The Right Way, I remain yours in the Cause, the Chairman.
Been so busy; no time to freep!
I'll be around more when things settle down.
Take care all y'all!!
He's been gone for a month? Wow. He sounds really good. Thanks for sharing, Mozie.
What is it about offshore testers? I am the liason to the liason for offshore testers in India. I prepare the code and the test cases and the instructions so that the liason can prepare the code and test cases and instructions for real testing.
My problem is that the current liason is doing a lousy job. He is not following instructions from anyone. He is specifically told not to do something and he goes and does it. And then kind of lies about doing it. He wasn't honest with our boss about what was happening, so he was going to be let go for insubordination. Only they decided to give him another chance.
So I am working on a project that he has been testing for the last six weeks. In 4 hours I'm 1/3 of the way finished. I'm the resource, and the tester. They will rely on my testing and see what he comes up with. I'm not optimistic about his chances.
It is just incongruous that a company would spend so much time and money and effort to hire someone full-time, and then turn around and shrug their shoulders when an offshore tester screws up. It almost seems to be a crapshoot if we're going to get a good solid tester. Thanks for listening, this is not how I want to spend the Christmas holidays, babysitting a contract employee.
I think I have found the perfect gift for my mom and sister. Day passes to a spa. Ha, that was easy. Now all I have to do is figure out something for my dad.
I'm off to bed. :)
It's got to be frustrating doing 'clean up' for that one.
Is there anyway you can let the bosses know of this incompetency? Sorry you're left to pull things together.
Day Spa certs would be a fantastic gift. Excellent thinking on your part.
Good Morning to the Dawn Patrol.
Hello, & good morning.!!!
G'morning Rav. It's snowing and blowing here.
IG, I have been checking the Accuweather arthritis index for the last few days and it seems to be very accurate. However, I wish they would give an arthritis index forecast. That would be much more useful.
I'm looking forward to Brit Hume's interview w/President Bush tonight. Brian Williams was in typical lib mode when he interviewed the President.
Blanco will be testifying...crying and lying more likely...at House hearing today.
Brit Hume is one of my favorites. Along with Tony Snow, John Gibson, David Asman and Neil Cavuto.
I wish for an accuweather pain forecast, also. So I could cancel meetings and stay in bed.
1. President's speech this morning.
2. Blanco's whine-a-thon.
3. Brit's interview with the President.
I shall have to adjust my work around here accordingly. :-)
I have enough vacation days accumulated that I'm off from today at lunchg to the 3rd.
Off to mom's tomorrow (6AM flight) for the weekend
For those who missed the story - a couple of years ago - I went home for Christmas and my mother was lurking on the Free Republic---apparantly she clicked my bookmark from the year before.
Last week when I was in DC there was a meeting of the Black State Legislator's Caucus in my hotel. Sir Jesse Jackson was there.
He and his entrourage passed me in a lobby which funneled people into meeting rooms. There were about 8 people in the group. There appeared to be 4 body guards who wore badges like a metal Law Officer's badge on their neckties. (When I told a friend about this he suggested they needed the badges to identify each other so when the shooting starts they knew WHO not to shoot at)
HI, MOM!!! Lol!
(My daughter lurks on FR and reads my posts here, so I can't reveal anything about her Christmas present...Hey, Mary!)
Wonderful that you've got some free time.
I am going to put my boots and coat on and go outside with the broom to sweep the snow off the satelite. TV is breaking up so bad I can't understand.
I won't have body guards on my trip tomorrow....even though State has issued a global warning (the terrorists are up to something)
NC's Mel Watt is head of the Black Caucus this year.....you know, that group of Black legislators who are in their own little bubble.
Keep your eyes open on that trip. The airport scanners aren't what they claim they are.
I carried a paring knife and a lighter to Washington DC in my carry on luggage (I keep a bag packed and ready to go all the time, and had the knife in the bag from last winter when I was making week long trips) WITHOUT detection.
Those scanners aren't what they're made out to be.
I left the paring knife in my hotel room for the return trip home, and placed the lighter inside a partially empty pack of cigs (hoping the foil liner would shield an outline of the lighter) It worked!
