The two old cars that I drove in highschool were a 57 Dodge with the push button automatic (it would start in-gear as the interlock was broken -- made for cool getaways) and a 56 Pontiac Station wagon much like the Chevey you show. The station wagon would really lay rubber turning a corner due to the suspension -- made leaving a parking lot a joy of noise.

The brakes failed on that wagon once pulling into the local drive in resturant. Hit the walkway curb the car hops used, flew two feet in the air, and bounced to a stop in the parking space on the other side. I killed the engine and ordered on the speaker on the passager window side as if nothing had happened.
