Well, I'm going to tell myself that they're waiting until the end of the special session of the Leg' (pronounced Ledge with a Texas drawl) that's being convened next month.

Anytime the Leg' is in town, I was told, everything goes ape-y. This group would be tasked with transceiving tons of information between the Leg' and the special interest groups and the people of the State, as well as keeping all the Governor's machines up and running 24/7.

Maybe they'd rather not have to deal with a new hire until that's all done?

I'm keeping an eye on their website ...

In other news, I had a preliminary interview today for a tech support position where they might be interested in my SQL skills, such as they are. It's kinda cool ... they run the software that lets car salesmen locate the car that matches your requirements for color, interior package, engine, etc. (Salesmen used to do this on the phone; not anymore.) Apparently, they serve one major manufacturer, and just added another, so they need folks.

At least the communication is mostly IM and email ...

Could you move to Boulder eventually?

Heh...I suppose. But Boulder has a reputation for being the San Francisco of Colorado. Not sure I'd wanna life there.

It is a pretty city, of course. But pretty much anything near mountains is. On the other hand, if there are more tech jobs there, I guess that's the more important factor.

I applied through Monster, and got a call about ten minutes later.

Oh, 2J, I was sorry to hear about the thief that struck!

It makes me angry, to think that someone would do that to you!

Hugs to you and Steve!

And you know I feel your pain, and not in a Clintoon-y way, either!

As DaBear reminded me this morning, I am a capable person, and someone will see that.

You, too, are a capable person, and someone soon will see that.

Heh...well, they didn't try to steal my van...I doubt they would've if they'd seen the "Check Engine" light that's been on for about a year and a half! LOL

They just rummaged through our stuff. Even Matthew's backpack with his Latin classwork was all over the place. Joshua had a dime and five pennies and marble in the ashtray and he was pretty worried about it...I had to go check on it. Apparently they didn't think to check in the back seat ashtray and his money and marble were not touched.

;-)

Yeah, I know. Careerbuilder is the same way. But I don't know of too many other sites. The local paper goes through Careerbuilder, and Craigslist isn't all that big here except among a certain population. I don't have much choice.

You know, if you get the job, you should contact Monster and give them a testimony! They might pay you for the advertisement!

It was just the first stage - a recruiter. He said he was pretty much sure his client would be interested in interviewing me as I closely matched the description, but I don't have an actual date yet.

Still, it's more than I had an hour ago. Even if it's not where I wanna drive.
