AMERICA - The Right Way!! (Day 1783) [Remember the Trade Center!!]
Various News Sources and FReepers | December 8, 2005 | All of Us

Posted on 12/08/2005 5:28:32 PM PST by Chairman_December_19th_Society

We will not tire, we will not falter, and we will not fail!

Good morning!!

Do not let the victims of the attacks on New York and Washington, nor the brave members of our Nation's military who have given their lives to protect our freedom, die in vain!!

WINTER STORM WARNING, HEAVY SNOW WARNING, SNOW ADVISORY, AND ICE STORM WARNING FOR ALL POINTS EAST OF THE MISSISSIPPI NORTH OF TENNESSEE AND NORTH CAROLINA, EXCEPT INCLUDING THE MOUTAINS OF NORTH CAROLINA (ICE) AND EXCLUDING NORTHERN MAINE, NEW HAMPSHIRE, VERMONT, AND NEW YORK

STORM TRACK:

Discussion:

A little better than yesterday, but not much. The LP center located in the lower Ohio valley is not transferring its energy to the LP center currently locatecd off Pensacola, FL, quite as rapidly as predicted. The storm track, however, has compensated for this by shifting somewhat to the left.

Where it gets compliated is the LP center in the Ohio valley will still be in existence tomorrow morning, though it will be dissipating. Cyclogenesis should take place off of Virginia Beach beginning sometime around 8 AM tomorrow morning. This system will drop siginficant amounts of snow through eastern Pennsylvania, all of New Jersey, southern New York, and most of New England. It will spare North Carolina, Virginia, Maryland, and points west.

And that's where the other LP center comes in. The Ohio valley storm is going to take care of these areas.

For the National Capital Region--snow, changing to sleet and fz rain by dawn before changing back to rain. Fz precip less than 0.1", so not factored into the storm rating. Snow totals prior to precip change should be around 4"--down because the main source of snow is not the nor'easter conveyor belt, but, unusally, the northern plains system. Warm air aloft, being brought in from GOMEX by the plains system will cause fz rain in all but the western most areas of the National Capital Region, and possibly all rain toward Tidewater. After cyclogenesis of the coastal storm, and movement of the Ohio Valley storm toward Buffalo, strong, on the order of 40 MPH winds, are likely to push down into the region, creating dendretic precipitaion over significant areas, resulting in another 2" of snow. Believe 6" total amount on a water column of 0.7", less one-tenth for icing precip, at 10:1 meltdown since temps are just below freezing through most of the atmosphere below 5,000 feet. Get three rolls to go through the storm.

For AMERICA - The Right Way, I remain yours in the Cause, the Chairman.

What's the title of the book you ordered, Rave? I know that 1776 and 1789, dates for both revolutions, were efforts of the American and French people to rule themselves, but the aftermath of the armed aggressions took different paths.

What a harrowing experience for you LBKQ. Glad you made it. Now you can have fun w/the little ones....and freep!

To the rest of the Dawn Patrol's sleepy heads, WAKE UP!

Do you remember that Al Gore spoke at a Global Warming conference on the coldest day of December of 2004? There was lots of amusement about his dire predictions of flooding of our east and west coasts and his statement that winters were getting a lot warmer.

So what did the Global Warming Crowd do this year? They decided to hold the Global Warming conference in Canada during what has turned out to be a record cold spell.

You would think some one with a brain would schedule a global warming conference on the hottest days of August... perhaps in Paris where they could highlight all the old people dying from the intense heat. Is it possible they schedule the conference in December expecting record high temperatures for the winter dates? If they do, the resulting weather of the last two years seems to be evidence that the true believers are not playing with a full deck. If they had scheduled the conference for November they would have gotten stories of record high temperatures. But instead they chose dates with record lows.

Yep

I have a flaming lib next to me at work. I asked her yesterday what the "annointed" would do if there was a decrease in average temperature and deviate from the global warming theory.

She said she calls it simply "climate change."

Safe driving, Dog. As for customers, I'm sure there are some who failed to put in the necessities....milk, bread, and TP.

I am awake

The *S* is falling here at a pretty good pace already.

I guess we are going to get hit hard because they already called off the day for work today.

In the "who cares" category: Front page NY Times today:

The Bush administration based a crucial prewar assertion about ties between Iraq and Al Qaeda on detailed statements made by a prisoner while in Egyptian custody who later said he had fabricated them to escape harsh treatment, according to current and former government officials

Well, right now the kids' school system is on a yeo-hour delay. Depending on ih The Coopster is home (and if he can stay awake since he was out plowing all night) I may have to go up there to get them on the bus.

I cannot believe they are haing school at all. We have over seven inches on the ground, it is 11 degrees outside, and we now are getting wind gusts up to 20 miles an hour and are under a blowing snow advisory. Indiana is FLAT, so we will get drifting pretty quickly.

All of this is, of course, about money. If school is closed they are docked that day's money from the state.

We're still missing two regulars on the Dawn Patrol map

I won't say who they are.....but....

Anyway - here's the link....

PS - I went to "My Friends" and it says:

"Currently you do not have any friends."

It is criminal imo to expect parents to put their children on buses (unheated?) to travel long distances (w/out seat belts) on icy roads. 7 inches of snow, 11 degrees, and 20mph winds...even w/a 2 hr. delay...does not make a safe school day for anyone's child.

Does the school calendar not have built in snow days or teacher work days that can be utilized in such circumstances?

In the absence of School Administrators' judgment, a parent must use his/her own and keep the child safe and make other arrangements.

Thay have snow days built into the calendar. Last year the kids got an extra day or two off in the spring because we hadn't used them all.

I will tell you what makes me even madder. This is a suburban school district and a lot of high school students drive. This is NOT the type of road condition situation that a beginning driver should face. And if all of those kids took the bus instead of driving, they wouldn't have enough room on the buses!

We went through this when my children were in high school, and we had 2 accidents for my daughter (fender benders) and The Coopster took out a portion of a fence and nearly went into a ditch.

DIL just caled and can't figure out why they are having school when many of the schools in the Indianapolis area are closed. Boy, I bet the school board will be hearing from her!!

Even these "Educators" should know that such weather conditons are NOT going to improve much, if any, in 2 hours.

(Once, at the HS teachers' lunch table...w/the principal present...when we were commenting on the local paper's/rag's picture of local "Educaters", I noted that there were no teachers in that picture. Silence and suppressed laughter greeted my next remark that administrators who don't teach are always referred to as EDUCATORS and while the rest of us just have jobs.)
