We will not tire, we will not falter, and we will not fail!
Good morning!!
Do not let the victims of the attacks on New York and Washington, nor teh brave members of our Nation's military who have given their lives to protect our freedom, die in vain!!
WINTER STORM WATCH FOR THE NATIONAL CAPITAL REGION, VIRGINIA BLUE RIDGE AND APPALACHIAN MAIN SPINE, ALL OF WEST VIRGINIA, PENNSYLVANIA AND NEW JERSEY, THE SOUTHERN TEIR OF NEW YORK INCLUDING WESTCHESTER, PUTNUM, ORANGE, AND ROCKLAND COUNTIES AS WELL AS NEW YORK CITY AND LONG ISLAND, ALL OF CONNECTICUT AND THE EASTERN HALF OF OHIO
Storm Track [NEW FEATURE]:
Discussion:
A weak mid-level LP system over the Ohio valley will move NEward over the next 24 hours and light off lake effect snows. This same system will cause cyclogenesis of a low=level LP system off of C. Hatteras--the breeding ground for nor'easters.
This system is expected to undergo explosive deepening and likely bomb out as it proceeds northeastward toward the open waters off New England.
That said, it is likely to be a fast mover, which will keep down snowfall. Unfortunately, dendrectic effects (moist air hitting blasts of cold causing precipitive fallout) are likely to be significant, and the rapidly decreaing pressure gradient will also contribute by forcing banding. The latter effect makes snowfall estimates difficult, but there is a 0.7" column of precipitable water available to the system. Some compensation needs to be given for the warm ground, so a meltdown ratio of 8:1 will be used. Total expected drop in northern Virginia near the Capital is 6 inches--check the bathrooms, you need three rolls.
In the news...
Well, as he threatened, Saddam didn't show up for his trial today. The trial went on anyway, at least for awhile. The judge has ordered a continuence until after Parliamentary elections in a week.
For AMERICA - The Right Way, I remain yours in the Cause, the Chairman.
LOL! But you left before the weather got bad! Seriously, I'm really sorry we missed each other last summer. Will you be back?
Hi..I have to get some darn groceries tomorrow.
I wasn't expecting a nor'easter so darn soon
Can we send the liberals up there?
Yo, that's OK, bear medicine is at hand. Use no cartridge whose caliber designation begins with a digit lower than 4.
For the record it is 25 and feels like 10
My feet are cold.
Everytime I get them warmed I have to get back up out of bed for something.
Hopefully they will warm up again real soon and I can go to sleep
:-)
There are more opportunities here for anyone with a little mechanical skill and a can do attitude. The big hotel down the street is having trouble finding a maintenance supervisor.
Power out for a few seconds. Blowing like crazy outside! Did you get in on the big bear hunt down there?
Not no, but H#!! NO!, not with the JTF crowd. They don't pay so well. I'm still waiting on COLA and hardship pay (maybe later this month).
I might do a couple of weeks for an annual tour, if the Japan thing falls through. But I was really disgusted by the screwing I got on my paycheck.
I loved it up there. Beautiful country. Great people. Fairly expensive, though.

No....I was into hunting deer and rabbit...never went after a bear.
Already have, remember the Tredwell fellow?
Good evening and thank you for the thread. Stay warm and dry.
I need more lever rifles in my NEW collection (so much got sold off to pay for school), as well as wheel guns.
/john
I'd hate to lug that AR 50 too far through the brush. LOL
I know when to sell.
/john
Good evening back! Thanks for the start and the map!
I don't remember what my naked feet look like anymore, since I wear socks (and many layers) ALL the time, LOL! Global warming, my perenially frozen hind end!!!
