re "flu" possibly flu, more likely the local epizootis. will not kill you but you will wish it would. if you get the short form it's gone in a week or so. the long version lasts about 4 weeks. mine is slowly going away - have had it going on 3 weeks now. rest does help. antibiotics do not. advice: don't spend any money on this one - over the counter stuff, a good stiff drink on a regular basis, plenty of rest and extra water. do what your doctor says, not what your doctor does.

quiet night so far. good thing. very busy day. half my patients had the epizootis today, the other half were in getting their prescriptions a week early, knowing i'm out of the office next week. my whole staff is schizophrenic. i'm sending them home at noon on friday and if any of them show up before january 2, i'm making out commitment papers. i'm going to spend next week re-doing all the forms we use in the charts, straightening out all the administrative rooms, and building 5 stalls in one of my barns. should keep me busy for a while. anybody out there, or am i just beating my gums?

You have to sympathize with them. It's actually dangerous standing in line waiting for the bathroom with your hind legs crossed. They could topple over and break a hip.
Besides, it's not a pretty sight seeing a bunch of horses hung up waiting for a stall.
