Silver ear-rings. Silver necklace. Yeah... silver is good to go.
Normalcy is over rated.

Hello!
I don't think I visit often enough to own a piece
of the castle though. I'm very bad about that.
As for being my brother's sister (er? Uh, yeah!), I
don't know how that would imply anything "good".
(j/k of course)

For day to day, I wear silver everything. I have a set of bangle bracelets it took me 16 years to compile.
But when I dress up, it's gold...

One of the rings I'm wearing right now is Black Hills gold and silver, with turquoise and redstone stones on it. The other ring is my baguette cut diamond wedding ring.

hematite is really beautiful
electrum (white gold) pleases my eye
silver, especially as a mounting for rubies or garnets, is striking
patinaed bronze can be rich and subtle
so can oil-quenched iron
surface-treated titanium is gorgeous
copper-aluminum alloy is striking
well done and well polished differentially quenched carbon-steel is perhaps the loveliest of metals

Plenty of rooms. No ones claimed the one across the hall from my suite yet...
If I remember correctly, we had plenty of capacity.

Leyt me put it this way...you were on the Original UT, and that counts. In the military, it's "Time In Grade."
So yah...I'll vouch for you. ;o]

Saw a steel ring that was gunmetal grey.
Looked pretty neat.
Too big for my hands though.
The curse of small hands.

I actually like hematite as well, however the magnetic
properties would make it difficult to wear as I'd probably
get stuck to the fridge everytime I went to open it. I'd end
up worrying about ruining the surface that way.

I suppose it would be possible to get a hematite inset in a non-ferrous ring and setting, which would obviate that issue.
how does one determine "birth stone"?

I had three rings of Black Hills gold before it was popular...and that was a long time ago. In the west, we do things quietly...but we do them well. I had the most beautiful "sunstone" ring, once...I'm not sure what it really was, but it was about the color of rich rust, and it had golden sparkles in it whenever the light hit it.

I like blue diamonds 'cause they're blue, but I'd never
expect anyone to actually buy me one... peruvian blue
opals are nice too (can you tell I like blue?).

well, you'll have to get one sized for you
I have problems with rings - large knuckles, slender phalanges

I did that once. Took some cold rolled O1 tool steel, chucked it into a lathe and cut a ring for my pinky. Sent it to heat treat and had it hardened to RC60 with a bunch of other stuff. Some polishing compound and viola.
Lost it. Took it off once and just couldn't remember where I'd left it.
