Well, you can scratch Lott getting the ML position when Frist leaves. He was just on Tony Snow's show saying Rove should resign because he's a lightning rod, and that the White House needs some "new blood."

That is not Lott's goal Lotts goal is to do to George Bush what George Bush did to him. That is why I was so upset when Bush had him fired.

I am not defending Trent. I never have. I just can't support the President doing things that over time will prove counter productive. I suspect that Bush was following Rove's asssesment of Trent when he had him replaced by Frist.

If that be the case then what Trent said today was perfectly predictable before Trent was removed. It is just more payback.

But I too have done many dumb things in anger. That is why I try so hard to never act or re-act until I have had time to cool down. But fairly often I fail to take my own advice. It has cost me dearly.
