So you have to go back to work on Friday and Monday?
Our Thanksgiving is always on a Monday, so it becomes a long weekend.
Some eat the bird on Sunday, in order to recover on the Monday.

Many people take the Friday off if they can, so they have Thursday-Sunday. I used to work the Friday after Thanksgiving, when I was employed, because almost nobody else was there, and I could either get a lot of work done, or read the newspaper and answer the phone occasionally, depending on the workload at the time.

So how do you all celebrate Thanksgiving. Do the Europeans have such a holiday?
