I have given some thought to the transporter (à la Star Trek.)

Picture an individual standing somewhere, and a powerful bolt of lightning comes along to completely vaporize the person, right down to his constituent atoms.

Now run the scene in reverse, a whirlwind of bits of smoke and steam coalesce in a flash of light to instantly form a breathing, blinking human being. Simple, eh?


A couple of issues. This level of atomic assembly or disassembly sounds painful, (Review above.)

Secondly, how does one go about storing and retrieving the patterning that makes it possible? This too is a technical challenge of immense proportions.

Other than that, it's a piece of cake.
