Excuse me: all the black widow and brown recluse spiders I've seen have had a span of at least 1.5"...not "tiny" to one who is allergic. I don't go places where they reside.

I saw a black widow spider in NC that was no bigger than .5". It may have been small, but I stomped it good and proper. *flesh crawling*
