I watched most of Secret Window yesterday, but it got too intense, so I finished it today. Then I popped in the first part of FOTR...to be continued...maybe tomorrow morning.
I like BBQ in the winter. But then, ours doesn't get snowed on...;o]

FOTR??
That's why we got the Big Green Egg.
We cooked a turkey in outdoor temps. of -5F/-20C last year.
The worst part is having to dress up to go out to check on it. lol.

I am trying my hand at cooking scotch eggs. Interesting flavor but rather heavy.

Any sun yet? Nope. The (Snoqualmie) river the other side of the ridge throws up a lot of fog. Closer in to town the fog thinned out, but we still have it here.

Thats kind of like here.
We drove into town to get some groceries, and saw the sun.
Then we drove home, and haven't seen it since. Now it's getting dark.

Soft boiled eggs, peeled and wrapped in sausage, rolled in bread crumbs and deep fryed.
I ate them with a little hot sauce, which I am sure is not traditional

I didn't read the books either.
I just can't 'get into' them.
My kids like it tho.
I like mysteries, sci-fi (not fantasy), espionage, and end of the world stuff like Meteor, The Stand, Lucifer's Hammer, and scientific history in general.

I have The Stand...The edition that was published later, with all the editor's cuts put back in. That is on my list for the next read, since I'm almost done with the LOTR books. Again. I think this must be close to 40 times I've read it...I learn something new every time. Or read something I don't remember from the last time I read it. *sigh*

The last edition was the best, I agree.
Have you read Atlas Shrugged, by Ayn Rand?
Thats an end of the world book, even if some people don't see it that way.
